David Purdy

CEO and Founder

Dave Purdy founded Wealth Management Midwest (WMM) to provide clients with objective financial services and guidance along with a superior commitment to prompt, courteous, comprehensive customer support. Dave was raised on a 520-acre cattle farm near Luck, Wisconsin where he and his two brothers learned early on a commitment to hard work and long hours. In his career in the financial services industry, he consistently applies that work ethic.

Upon graduating from the University of Minnesota-Duluth, Dave became the sixth generation on the Purdy side of the family to earn a college degree; an accomplishment found in very few family histories. Dave earned his place as a recognized investment executive through a solid work ethic, conservative investment ideology, and sound commitment to client service. Before founding WMM he was a senior investment executive/branch manager at a large regional brokerage firm in the Midwest for more than 12 years. Dave was the recipient in 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017 of the “5-Star Wealth Manager”** award featured in the January 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017 issues of Minneapolis-St. Paul Magazine; representing a select group of wealth managers in the Twin Cities area. As an honored member of the International Who’s Who of Entrepreneurs, Dave is well regarded for his 29 years of investment experience and integrity; and it’s that integrity that instills confidence in his clients. His grasp of the capital markets, combined with his ability to tailor investment/financial planning programs to his clients individual needs, have consistently helped him work towards his clients’ goals and objectives.

Through Dave’s consistent effort he aims to earn a reputation for outstanding service, he has built a solid national client base and expanded his business through referrals from clients and other professionals.

Outside the office, Dave is known for his active interest in the community. He serves as a current board member at Lakes Center for Youth and Families and is the past Chairman of the Board of Fairview Lakes Health Services, as well as past president of the Forest Lake Rotary Club and former board member of the Forest Lake Area Chamber of Commerce. Dave also volunteers for BestPrep, a statewide non-profit organization, as a speaker at local area high schools. BestPrep’s goal is to prepare Minnesota students with business, career and financial literacy skills.

Dave also enjoys collecting and playing new and vintage guitars, riding his Harley Davidson, and “Barn Hunt” dog showing. Dave and his wife, Lori, live in Forest Lake, MN with their miniature Manchester terrier, Gnatt and their Cocker Spaniel, Gibson. Dave and his wife also find time to take to the road in their RV, enjoying the great outdoors.

Dave is registered to sell securities in the following states: AL, AZ, CA, CO, FL, GA, IA, IL, MI, MN, NC, NV, OR, SD, TX, UT and WI.

Exams passed and registrations held with LPL Financial: Series 4-Registered Options Principal, Series 7-General Securities Representative, Series 24 General Securities Principal, Series 51 Municipal Fund Securities Limited Principal, Series 63 Uniform Securities Agent State Law Exam, Series 65 Uniform Investment Advisor Exam, and a Wealth Management Certification*.
